Your daily November 6th routine:

The election is upon us, will you make the educated decision?
After chatting at the dinner table last weekend I found out that my father did
not vote in last election. This outraged me so I decided to blog about it. Here’s
my view on it…… No one should choose to not cast a vote, if you think its ok
not voting it is and issue. As any American knows come November 6th the voting
will occur for the next president in the 2012 election. Due to the fact that I
am not of age to vote I have an interesting perspective on the issue of voting.
All people should vote, this should not even be an issue. It’s not a challenging
concept people fought for years on attaining this right. Voting is a privilege not a right, people
lost their lives for democracy and as an American it’s our job to keep the
freedom trend rolling. After doing some leisurely research I found out that
more and more people are being allotted the right to cast an "absentee ballot"
without questioning or reasons. This is the right step in order to make sure
that everyone has a say. In past social studies classes a re-occurring topic
was "what it means to be and American". After years of trying to find
that definition to this simply complex question I came to the conclusion that being
an American means being free and having a say in government. America is one of the only places where
everyone is equal and the poor and rich have the opportunity to have their
voice heard in government. Don’t think that one vote won’t count because it
does. In modern times voting is fast, accurate and efficient. So cast your vote
this election….don’t be shy. I hope to see you there in the next presidential
election where my voice counts!
